The Rochester Public Library is accepting the donation of purses, new and like new, for its March fundraiser. Costume jewelry will also be accepted. Donations will be accepted through March 18.

The Rochester Public Library will stage its annual Purse Sale March 25 and 27 at the library. Preview day will be Thursday March 25 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; a $2 donation for the library is requested for the early-bird shopping. The Purse Sale will resume March 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature bargains on used handbags and purses from designers to vintage styles. Some costume jewelry and other surprises will be featured. Free college funding workshop Jan. 19  at 4:30 p.m. The workshop, conducted by Dana Winters, a counselor for the area's Education Opportunities Center, Penn State Beaver,  will cover college funding sources that are available and information about completing the FAFSA. The workshop is an excellent venue to discover funding options from governmental grants and loans to scholarships as well as the often-intimidating road to aid that each college student must follow.
