1,000 Books before Kindergarten
1,000 Books before Kindergarten

Raising A Reader!
BCLS and ALD invite families and caregivers across Beaver County to read 1,000 books with their children before they enter kindergarten. Reading aloud to children from birth does more than just stack their vocabulary, it jumpstarts the critical thinking and language skills they need to navigate the world. Start their literacy journey today- It’s easy (and free!) with your library.
How to Participate:
- Register at beaverlibraries.beanstack.org
- Log the books you read with your child in Beanstack or on the Beanstack app or track your progress on a printed log.
- For every 200 books read, stop into your library for a prize from The Log Box!
- When you've read 1,000 books, congratulations! Stop into the library for the final prize!
- The Beanstack App is sponsored and managed by The Aliquippa Library District (ALD).
Reading 1,000 books is easier than it sounds: Just three a day for one year. Start at any age and go at your own pace.
