Social Worker LIBRARY SCHEDULE AUGUST - DECEMBER 2024 | Mondays: Carnegie Free Library Beaver Falls & Monaca Public Library, Tuesdays: Baden Public Library, Wednesdays: Carnegie Free Library of Midlan

Social Worker

This program sponsored by the Aliquippa Library District and the Environmental Mitigation Community Fund, through the Pittsburgh Foundation.

Provides counseling and support to library users, help them navigate various health and wellness resources, and assist them in their journey towards mental health recovery. In addition to these services, Michael will also provide several direct supports: Crisis Intervention, which involves providing immediate support during a crisis to help individuals regain equilibrium; Case Management, which involves coordinating services and resources to assist individuals or families; Life Skills Training, which involves helping individuals develop essential skills such as budgeting, job searching, and time management; Advocacy, which involves representing and advocating for library user’s rights and needs at individual, group, and community levels; and psychoeducation, which involves educating individuals and families about mental health conditions and strategies for managing them. Our social worker program will also focus on Community Outreach to help the library district build better engagement with our communities and raise awareness of available services and resources.

The Tiny Art Show and Silent Auction will take place on Saturday Octber 19, from 12-3pm in the Community College of Beaver County Libray during our big event, LIBRARYCON.  Preview week will be October 14-19 during regular college library Hours.


 

Ghost Bomber Unsolved.  History Alive - lecture series with the Heinz History Center

Ghost Bomber Unsolved

What really happened on that fateful day in 1956? Did a B-25 bomber vanish into the depths of the Monongahela, or is there more to the story? Bob Shema, Operations Director of the B-25 Recovery Project, will provide a gripping presentation with a keynote address from Leslie Przybylek, Senior Curator at the Heinz History Center. Seating is limited.  Door Prizes, Museum and Aircraft Tours, Warbird Raffle & Refreshments will be available.
